At The Hair Extension Boutique we take hair safety very seriously. Every aspect of hair safety is taken into account during every step of the hair extensions process, from consultation to removal.
Step 1: Consultation
A free comprehensive hair extensions consultation is always carried out initially with every client before commencing with the hair extensions procedure, so that we may assess your hair, discuss your requirements and advice you on the most suitable option for you. During the consultation we offer a free test hair extensions, intended to give you an idea of how they feel, and also to help us test the suitability of your hair for our hair extensions. Although it is not a conclusive test, it will offer a good indication as to whether we can proceed with the application.
Although extremely rare, some people have ‘unstable hair’, which appears perfectly normal but in actual fact has the inability to hold even the smallest amount weight, and therefore would be unsuitable for all types of hair extensions. Having fine hair does not mean that your hair is unstable. Our micro hair extensions can be successfully applied to even the finest of hair without causing any damage.
For hair that is severely damaged, weak or broken; hair extensions may not be the most suitable option. Having regular trims and a course of reconstructing treatments may be advised until the condition of the natural hair improves.
Step 2: Application
There are several techniques to applying hair extensions, but we choose only our custom-tailored micro bonds application because we have absolute confidence that our system provides the safest hair extensions. Our system has been highly developed and perfected to the highest professional standard.
Our micro strand-by-strand hair extensions create a free-flowing hairstyle, exactly like your natural hair, and therefore enables your scalp to ‘breath’. They are attached 1cm from the scalp, so that they lie completely flat to the head, allowing your natural hair to continue growing without any disruption. If hair extensions are applied too close to the scalp, they would feel very uncomfortable and as they grow down with your natural hair, loops would form between the scalp and the bond, causing uneven tension on the hair.
Since we apply lots of fine individual hair extensions; each one is virtually weightless, ensuring that the natural hair is not overloaded with too much weight. This prevents weakening the hair and causing breakage. Our professional hair extensions are designed to be equally balanced with your natural hair, and are applied on a weight for weight ratio, which prevents causing tension on your hair and scalp. By applying lots of fine hair extensions to small neat sections of the hair allows the extensions to be distributed evenly over the head, and limits the possibility of causing any tension spots and snagging on the natural hair.
Our hair extensions are extremely comfortable, they do not feel heavy, and you should barely be able to sense they are there. The hair extension bonds are non-toxic, non-damaging and specifically designed for the safe application of professional hair extensions.
Step 3: Home Care & Maintenance
All clients are fully advised on how to care for your hair new hair extensions, and you will be given a set of guidelines outlining the home care procedures. You can download a copy of this from our Home Care page.
As part of our Maintenance Programme we provide a complimentary check up for all new clients after 2 weeks of the application, so that the hair extensions can be examined and to ensure that the home care guidelines have been followed correctly. We also provide a complimentary maintenance appointment every time you have you hair extensions refitted, to help keep your hair in the best possible condition.
Step 4: Removal
Some hair extension bonding materials are so strong that they are extremely difficult to remove without causing stress or damage to the natural hair. Our bonding is very durable yet kind on the hair and easily removed. Removing our hair extensions is a very simple procedure and causes no damage to the natural hair. Both applying and removing professional hair extensions should NEVER cause any pain or discomfort, nor cause any damage to your natural hair.

Human Hair
The quality of the human hair plays a large part in determining how real the hair extensions will look. We only use the finest quality, hand-picked European, Moldovan and Virgin Russian human hair, which can be reused for multiple applications due to its extremely high quality.
